Understanding Vintage Condition

Pre-loved pieces have individual histories. Two garments with the same label can feel very different, so read the condition description and look closely at the photos of the exact piece.

Look at the details

Check cuffs, collars, seams, closures and linings. For bags, look at handles, straps, corners and hardware. Fading, patina, repairs and other signs of wear should be considered alongside the material and overall construction.

Read the individual listing

Condition notes describe that particular item. A general vintage label does not replace details about marks, holes, repairs or missing parts. Do not assume that an area outside the photographs is free of wear; ask if it matters to your decision.
